Terms of Service

Last updated: September 6, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Cyber Defense Genius (the “Site”), published by Cyber Defense Media Group (“CDMG,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

Cyber Defense Media Group is a Nevada corporation with its principal address at 1717 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Suite 1025, Washington, DC 20006.

What This Site Is

Cyber Defense Genius is an editorial research platform that evaluates cybersecurity companies against the Cyber Defense Innovation Matrix, a six-dimension scoring framework. Scores, tiers, and editorial commentary reflect our research team’s independent assessment at the time of publication — they are opinions, not guarantees of a company’s performance, security, or fitness for any particular purpose.

Editorial Independence and Sponsored Placement

Featured or sponsored placements on the Site are always labeled “Sponsored” and never affect a company’s Innovation Matrix score or tier. Scores are based on evidence gathered and reviewed by our editorial team, and by verified CISO Reviewer input, as described on our Methodology page.

CISO Reviewer Accounts

Reviewer accounts are available to verified CISOs and security leaders. By registering, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your identity, company, and title;
  • Keep your login credentials confidential and notify us of any unauthorized use;
  • Submit reviews and scores reflecting your own genuine professional assessment, not on behalf of a vendor or in exchange for compensation;
  • Not attempt to manipulate scores, submit duplicate accounts, or otherwise abuse the reviewer system.

We reserve the right to deny, suspend, or revoke reviewer access at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Site for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its underlying systems; scrape or bulk-extract Site content without our prior written consent; interfere with the Site’s normal operation; or submit false, defamatory, or misleading content.

User-Submitted Content

If you submit a review, quote, or company information, you grant CDMG a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display, and edit that content on the Site and in related promotional materials. You represent that you have the right to submit that content and that it does not infringe any third party’s rights.

Intellectual Property

The Site’s design, the Cyber Defense Innovation Matrix methodology, and all original editorial content are the property of CDMG and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Company names, logos, and trademarks referenced on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification purposes.

Third-Party Links

The Site links to third-party company websites and resources we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any linked third-party site.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that Matrix scores, company information, or any other content is complete, accurate, or current at the time you view it — company facts, funding, and technology change, and scores are dated and periodically revisited rather than continuously updated in real time.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CDMG will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including any business, investment, procurement, or hiring decision made in reliance on Site content.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold CDMG harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or your reviewer account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Site or other users.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
