Overview

Trustle sells a Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) and just-in-time (JIT) access platform aimed at eliminating standing privileges. The product continuously scans cloud and SaaS environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Okta, Entra, Snowflake, GitHub, GitLab, Salesforce and others) for orphaned accounts, over-privileged users, unrotated keys and service-account misuse, then lets employees self-provision time-boxed access through Slack or Microsoft Teams that expires automatically.

The company, based in Walnut Creek, California, was founded in 2019 by Emiliano Berenbaum and raised a $6 million seed round in April 2023 led by Glasswing Ventures with Capital Technology Ventures, Correlation Ventures and FUSE. In November 2024 it brought in Gant Redmon as CEO, with Berenbaum moving to CTO, suggesting a push toward scaling go-to-market. More recently Trustle has extended its identity-lifecycle and CIEM capabilities to cover non-human and agentic AI identities, a response to the same machine-identity sprawl problem that larger CIEM vendors are also now targeting.

Trustle’s differentiator is its self-service, chat-ops-centered workflow rather than a console-only approach, aimed at reducing the friction that causes teams to grant standing access in the first place. It competes directly with better-funded CIEM/JIT players (P0 Security, Britive, ConductorOne, Opal Security) and has not disclosed funding since 2023, so its market footprint remains modest and unproven at scale.

Innovation Matrix Assessment

Innovation Velocity 6/10

Has shipped a coherent sequence of features (JIT access, CIEM, identity lifecycle, and now non-human/agentic-AI identity controls) on a small team, but nothing category-first or independently benchmarked.

Operational Value 6/10

Directly targets a real CISO pain point — standing privilege sprawl — with a self-service workflow that plausibly reduces both risk and help-desk friction for access requests.

Market Momentum 3/10

Only one disclosed round ($6M seed, 2023), no publicly named customers, and a CEO change in late 2024; too little independently verifiable adoption evidence to score higher.

Category Disruption 3/10

CIEM/JIT access is an established, increasingly crowded category (P0 Security, Britive, ConductorOne, Opal) — Trustle is a credible entrant, not a category redefiner.

Real-World Efficacy 3/10

No named customer case studies, analyst placements, or independent test results were found; efficacy rests on product description alone.

Enduring Relevance 5/10

Least-privilege and non-human-identity governance will remain a persistent cloud security need, but the specific vendor's staying power is unproven.

Why CISOs Should Care

Gives security teams a way to cut standing cloud privileges without the friction of ticket-based access requests, lowering both breach blast radius and operational overhead.

What Makes It Different

Chat-ops-first, self-service provisioning (Slack/Teams) rather than a console-only CIEM workflow, now extended to non-human and agentic AI identities.

The Matrix Verdict

43/100 — EMERGING / UNRANKED

Emerging/Unranked: a real, functioning CIEM product solving a genuine problem, but thin, publicly-verifiable evidence of traction or independent validation keeps it below the Incremental threshold for now.

Editorial Note: Claims vs. Verified Findings

All customer-impact and efficacy claims come from the vendor's own site and press releases; no analyst report, named enterprise customer, or independent test was found to corroborate them.
