Overview

Seraphic Security (legal name Seraphic Algorithms Ltd.) builds browser security software that protects whatever browser employees already use — Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox — against zero-day exploits, malicious extensions, phishing and generative-AI-driven data leakage, without requiring organizations to migrate to a dedicated enterprise browser.

Founded in 2020 in Herzliya, Israel by CEO Ilan Yeshua (former longtime CEO of news site Walla) and CTO Avihay Cohen, the company has grown past 50 employees and closed a $29 million Series A in January 2025 led by GreatPoint Ventures, with participation from the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund and existing investors Planven, Cota Capital, Storm Ventures, Eastlink and Secure Octane.

Its core differentiator versus the enterprise-browser category (Island, Talon-style products) is that it layers protection onto the browser teams already have, aiming to reduce deployment friction and user pushback while still getting runtime visibility into page content and script execution.

Innovation Matrix Assessment

Innovation Velocity 6/10

Steady five-year build-out from founding to a $29M Series A, with continued platform expansion into GenAI-driven browser threats, rather than a sudden leap.

Operational Value 7/10

Removes the usual tradeoff between browser security and user experience by protecting the browser employees already use, lowering the operational cost of rollout for IT and security teams.

Market Momentum 6/10

A $29M Series A with strategic participation from the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund is a real, verifiable signal of investor and ecosystem confidence beyond vendor marketing.

Category Disruption 5/10

The enterprise/secure-browser space is now crowded (Island, LayerX, SquareX, Talon); securing the existing browser rather than replacing it is a meaningful but incremental distinction, not a category redefinition.

Real-World Efficacy 5/10

No independently published incident response or third-party test results were found; the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund's participation is a credibility signal but not efficacy proof.

Enduring Relevance 7/10

As work increasingly happens inside the browser (SaaS, AI copilots, web-based agents), browser-layer defense should stay relevant for the foreseeable future.

Why CISOs Should Care

Lets a CISO extend browser-level threat protection and DLP across the whole workforce without forcing a disruptive browser migration project.

What Makes It Different

Instruments and protects the browser employees already use at runtime, rather than requiring adoption of a new, separate enterprise browser.

The Matrix Verdict

60/100 — INCREMENTAL INNOVATOR

An Incremental Innovator: a well-funded, credibly backed approach to a real problem in a crowded field, short of the evidence needed for a higher tier.

Editorial Note: Claims vs. Verified Findings

Threat-detection capability claims come from company materials and funding coverage; no independent efficacy benchmark was located.
