Q*Bird is a Delft, Netherlands-based deep-tech startup founded in January 2022 by researchers from QuTech/TU Delft, building quantum key distribution (QKD) hardware and software to protect network communications against both current and future quantum-computer-enabled attacks. The company’s Falqon product line implements measurement-device-independent QKD (MDI-QKD), an architecture that removes the detector hardware — historically the most exploitable component of QKD systems — from the trust boundary, so an attacker who compromises the measurement device still cannot recover the key.
