Precisely Enforcive

Enforcive is the IBM i (AS/400) and mainframe security product line operated by Precisely, the Burlington, Massachusetts-based data integrity software company. The underlying technology originates with Enforcive Systems, an Israeli security vendor founded in 1983 that pioneered mainframe security software before building one of the leading IBM i security and audit suites from the late 1990s onward. Enforcive Systems was acquired by Vision Solutions in 2017, which was itself absorbed into Syncsort; Syncsort rebranded as Precisely in 2020 following its merger with Pitney Bowes Software & Data, bringing the Enforcive product line under the Precisely portfolio as "Precisely Enforcive."

The Enforcive Enterprise Security Suite provides more than twenty integrated, GUI-managed modules covering IBM i network security, authority-swap privileged access controls, real-time security monitoring, log transfer/SIEM integration, and regulatory compliance reporting. The product is built to let IBM i administrators and security officers detect and respond to unauthorized access or configuration changes, enforce least-privilege authority management, and produce the audit evidence regulated organizations need to satisfy PCI DSS, SOX, and similar frameworks on legacy midrange systems that general-purpose security tooling often does not reach.

As a mature, acquired product line inside a much larger, private-equity-backed data software company (Precisely is owned by Clearlake Capital and TA Associates), Enforcive’s growth trajectory is tied to Precisely’s broader roadmap rather than independent fundraising or go-to-market motion. It serves a durable but shrinking base of enterprises still running IBM i/AS400 workloads, a niche where competition is limited but the addressable market is not expanding.
