iProov builds face biometric verification technology centered on what it calls Genuine Presence Assurance — confirming not just that a face matches an enrolled identity, but that the person is physically present, live, and not a photo, video replay, mask, or synthetic deepfake. That distinction matters increasingly as identity fraud shifts from stolen credentials toward AI-generated face swaps and injection attacks against onboarding and authentication flows.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in London, iProov has built a customer base concentrated in government and financial services, two sectors with the highest bar for identity assurance. Its stated clients include the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the UK Home Office, the UK’s National Health Service, the Australian Taxation Office, GovTech Singapore, and banks including Rabobank and ING. DHS has separately awarded iProov SBIR funding to pilot its anti-spoofing detection in an operational border-security environment, which is a more independently grounded validation than a typical vendor case study.

iProov raised $70 million in a 2022 growth round led by Sumeru Equity Partners, on top of an earlier $6.75 million Series A, and said it tripled revenue that year as digital identity verification spending accelerated industry-wide.
