INKY provides AI-driven email security that uses computer vision and behavioral analysis to detect phishing, brand impersonation, and business email compromise. Its defining feature is a real-time, in-inbox warning banner that explains to the end user why a specific message looks risky, rather than only silently blocking or quarantining suspicious mail the way most secure email gateways do — the goal being to coach users toward safer decisions in the moment rather than simply hiding the threat from them.

Founded in 2008 in College Park, Maryland, INKY raised $31.84 million in disclosed venture funding across a $5.6 million Series A led by ClearSky Security and a $20 million Series B led by Insight Partners in 2020, with Kaseya later joining as a strategic investor. In October 2025, Kaseya acquired INKY outright; the product continues to be sold as a standalone offering and is also bundled into Kaseya 365 for managed service providers.

INKY’s venture backing and its genuinely differentiated in-inbox coaching UX are real strengths in a crowded email security category. The open question following the Kaseya acquisition is whether INKY retains independent product-roadmap priority as one component of a much larger MSP platform business, or whether its distinct approach gets diluted into a broader bundled offering over time.
