Overview

Humanix Security defends what it calls the “human layer” — help desks, service desks, and customer-facing channels that attackers exploit through social engineering rather than technical exploits. Its AI platform combines natural-language analysis with behavioral-science models to monitor live conversations across phone, chat, and service tickets in real time, flagging manipulation tactics, urgent impersonation attempts, and policy violations as they happen rather than after the fact.

Founded by CEO Keith Stewart, a 20-year security veteran who previously served as interim CEO of vArmour through its acquisition, the San Francisco company raised $18 million across seed and Series A rounds in November 2025 — the seed led by BoldStart Ventures, the Series A led by Acrew Capital. Humanix was named an RSAC 2026 Innovation Sandbox Top 10 finalist. The company says its platform is in use at organizations in finance and hospitality, industries that have faced high-profile help-desk social engineering attacks in recent years.

The differentiator is channel coverage: most social engineering defenses concentrate on email phishing, leaving live voice and chat channels — the vector behind several major 2023–2025 breaches that started with a phone call to a help desk — comparatively unmonitored. That’s a real and underserved gap. The company hasn’t yet published named customer results, so the operational claims currently rest on vendor description and RSAC’s independent selection process rather than measured outcomes.

Innovation Matrix Assessment

Innovation Velocity 7/10

Raised seed and Series A within the same funding announcement and reached an RSAC Innovation Sandbox finalist slot quickly after founding.

Operational Value 7/10

Targets live voice/chat social engineering, a vector that email-focused security tooling generally doesn't monitor at all.

Market Momentum 6/10

$18M raised and RSAC recognition are solid signals, but no named customers are public to verify actual adoption.

Category Disruption 6/10

A meaningful, underserved channel focus, but it's a bounded point solution for conversational channels rather than a category-wide rearchitecture.

Real-World Efficacy 5/10

No independent incident-based evidence found; industry-use claims (finance, hospitality) are vendor-stated without named customers.

Enduring Relevance 7/10

Help-desk and voice-based social engineering has become a preferred attacker vector as technical controls like MFA have hardened.

Why CISOs Should Care

Covers the live phone/chat social engineering vector that most phishing-focused tools never touch, closing a gap attackers have actively exploited.

What Makes It Different

Analyzes live conversations in real time using NLP plus behavioral-science signals, rather than only scanning email or post-incident logs.

The Matrix Verdict

63/100 — INCREMENTAL INNOVATOR

A well-funded, RSAC-recognized bet on a genuine coverage gap; Incremental Innovator pending public evidence of customer outcomes.

Editorial Note: Claims vs. Verified Findings

Funding and RSAC finalist status are independently reported. Claims about use in finance and hospitality organizations are vendor-stated; no named customers were found.
