Endian builds unified threat management (UTM) firewalls, VPN and secure remote access products, and IoT/OT security gateways aimed at the intersection of IT and industrial (operational technology) environments. Its hardware and virtual appliances bundle firewall, intrusion detection, hotspot/BYOD management, and industrial protocol-aware security gateways into a single product line, targeting manufacturers, energy and transportation operators that need to secure edge and industrial networks without deploying separate point products.

Founded in 2003 in Eppan (South Tyrol), Italy, Endian has remained an independently held, privately financed company for more than two decades, with no disclosed venture funding rounds. It is a small organization — on the order of a few dozen employees — that reaches customers primarily through a channel network reported at more than 500 partners and distributors across over 50 countries, rather than direct enterprise sales.

Endian’s positioning around IEC 62443 and EU NIS2 compliance for industrial and edge networks keeps it relevant to a real and growing regulatory driver in Europe, though the broader UTM/firewall category is mature and dominated by much larger vendors such as Fortinet, Sophos and WatchGuard, and Endian’s public information does not include recent funding events or major product-innovation announcements.
