Asymptote Labs builds Beacon, an open-source (MIT) telemetry layer that configures AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex CLI and Cursor to export activity, then writes a normalized JSON log of what each agent does. A local dashboard reads the log and data can be forwarded to customer-managed SIEMs.
Beacon runs locally without an account. Asymptote’s CEO is Justin D’Souza, and SecurityWeek reported a $5.5M seed on October 21, 2026 led by Tower Research Ventures, though this could not be independently confirmed here.
Innovation Matrix Assessment
Released an open-source agent telemetry layer covering several coding agents.
Gives SOCs visibility into what coding agents do on endpoints and in CI.
Reported $5.5M seed; very new with no customer evidence found.
Treats agent activity as first-class telemetry, an early-stage category.
No independent testing or named incidents found.
Agent oversight should become standard practice.
Why CISOs Should Care
Visibility and audit of AI coding agent behavior, feeding existing SIEM workflows.
What Makes It Different
Open-source, local-first telemetry instead of a proxy or network control.
The Matrix Verdict
50/100 — INCREMENTAL INNOVATOR
Asymptote Labs is an Incremental Innovator at a very early stage. The approach is timely but evidence is minimal.
Editorial Note: Claims vs. Verified Findings
The seed funding was seen only in a search snippet of SecurityWeek and not confirmed on the article itself. HQ and founding year unverified.
