11:11 Systems is a cyber resiliency and managed infrastructure provider built largely through acquisition. The company took shape when private equity firm Sole Source Capital combined Green Cloud Defense and iland in 2021, then scaled fast in 2022 by acquiring the Recovery and Cloud & Managed Services businesses of Sungard Availability Services, a company with roots going back decades in disaster recovery. That lineage matters: Sungard AS effectively invented the commercial DR-as-a-service model, and 11:11 inherited its infrastructure-recovery contracts, data-vaulting operations, and consulting practice along with its customer base.

The current business sells backup, disaster recovery, ransomware-recovery, cloud connectivity, and managed detection/response as a bundled resiliency stack, aimed at mid-market and enterprise IT teams that want a single vendor for “stay-up and recover-fast” rather than assembling backup, DR, and security tooling separately. This is a data-protection and business-continuity play more than a threat-detection one: the pitch to a CISO is minimizing downtime and data loss after an incident (especially ransomware), not stopping the initial intrusion.

11:11 operates at real scale — nearly 5,000 customers and dozens of global cloud points of presence following the Sungard AS integration — which gives it credibility on uptime and recovery SLAs that a pure startup couldn’t match. The tradeoff is that it’s an integration of several older businesses under new ownership, so its innovation profile looks more like consolidation-and-modernization than greenfield product disruption.
