Whalebone reports serving more than 300 telecom providers globally and claims 10 times higher adoption rates than traditional endpoint security software specifically because DNS-level protection requires no user installation. The company leads the EU’s DNS4EU project, a European initiative targeting DNS-based protection for up to 100 million citizens, positioning Whalebone as a significant player in European digital sovereignty and consumer protection policy.

Distributing security through telecom infrastructure rather than relying on endpoint installation is a genuinely different go-to-market and technical approach that reaches users who would otherwise have no protection at all, and the DNS4EU leadership role gives Whalebone real policy-level validation, though DNS filtering alone cannot catch threats that bypass DNS resolution.
