Neuramancer (legally Neuramancer AI Solutions GmbH, formerly Neuraforge) builds forensic AI tools to detect and attribute deepfake audio, video, and images. Unlike tools that output a simple authentic/synthetic score, Neuramancer’s platform is built to produce attribution and evidentiary reports suitable for claims investigation and dispute processes.
The company’s initial go-to-market focus is the insurance industry, where AI-generated documentation, staged incident footage, and synthetic voice claims are an emerging and largely unaddressed fraud vector; the forensic framing is intended to give claims and investigations teams defensible evidence rather than just a risk score.
Founded in 2024 in Rosenheim, Bavaria by Anatol Maier and Anika Gruner, Neuramancer closed a €1.7 million pre-seed round in March 2026 led by Vanagon Ventures, with participation from Bayern Kapital.
Innovation Matrix Assessment
Still defining its go-to-market around the insurance vertical shortly after a small pre-seed raise.
Forensic, evidentiary-grade output is more directly usable by claims and investigations teams than a bare synthetic-media probability score.
A roughly $1.8M pre-seed round is small relative to better-funded deepfake-detection peers, and no named customers were found.
The attribution/evidentiary framing is a real but modest differentiation from standard binary deepfake classifiers.
No independent test results, incidents, or customer evidence were found at this early stage.
Deepfake-enabled insurance and identity fraud is a growing problem that is unlikely to recede over the next several years.
Why CISOs Should Care
Gives fraud and claims-investigation teams defensible forensic evidence of media manipulation rather than an unexplained risk score.
What Makes It Different
Focuses on attribution and evidentiary reporting for a specific vertical (insurance) rather than general-purpose deepfake scoring.
The Matrix Verdict
47/100 — EMERGING / UNRANKED
An Emerging/Unranked company: a sound, narrowly-targeted idea at a very early funding stage with no independent efficacy evidence yet.
Editorial Note: Claims vs. Verified Findings
No vendor efficacy statistics were published at the time of research; all figures are limited to confirmed funding and founding details.
