Tonic Security builds an agentic exposure management platform that helps security teams continuously prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities rather than working from static, periodic scan reports. The approach aligns with the Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) model that has become a budget priority for security organizations heading into 2026.
The company was founded in 2024 by Sharon Isaaci (CEO), a former IDF intelligence officer and CISO at incident-response firm Sygnia; David Warshavski (CPO), formerly head of red teaming and enterprise security at Sygnia; and Greg Ainbinder (CTO), a former senior officer in IDF’s Unit 8200 who founded its AI department and led secure-cloud initiatives.
Tonic Security emerged from stealth in July 2025 with a $7 million seed round led by Hetz Ventures, with additional participation from Vesey Ventures and angel investors, to build out its AI-powered exposure management product for enterprise clients.
Innovation Matrix Assessment
A founding team with direct elite-unit and incident-response pedigree (Sygnia, Unit 8200) shipped a working agentic exposure-management product within roughly a year of founding.
Directly addresses a top CISO pain point: knowing which of thousands of findings to fix first, rather than just generating more alerts.
A $7M seed round from a credible but regionally focused investor base is a real but early-stage momentum signal.
Agentic CTEM is a genuine evolution of exposure management, but it enters a field already served by larger platforms like Tenable, Rapid7, CyCognito, and XM Cyber.
Too early for independent, named-customer efficacy evidence; current claims are company-described 'early traction.'
CTEM is now a mainstream budget priority for CISOs, and AI-driven prioritization fits a durable, growing need.
Why CISOs Should Care
Helps security teams focus limited remediation capacity on the exposures that actually matter, instead of drowning in undifferentiated vulnerability lists.
What Makes It Different
Applies agentic AI specifically to exposure prioritization and remediation workflows, built by a team with direct red-team and incident-response operating experience.
The Matrix Verdict
57/100 — INCREMENTAL INNOVATOR
An Incremental Innovator: a credible, operator-founded team addressing a real CISO priority, but still seed-stage in a field with established, well-funded incumbents.
Editorial Note: Claims vs. Verified Findings
Founder backgrounds and funding details are independently reported; claims of 'strong early traction' and efficiency gains are company-stated and not independently benchmarked.
