Armis’s Centrix platform discovers and continuously assesses every device connecting to a network — managed and unmanaged IT endpoints, OT equipment, IoT devices and medical devices — without requiring installed agents. It builds its device-fingerprint knowledge base from passive network traffic analysis and a large crowdsourced device-intelligence dataset, giving security teams a single asset inventory and exposure view across device categories that typically sit in separate silos.
Founded in 2015, Armis grew rapidly on the strength of that agentless approach, reaching a $6.1 billion valuation in a November 2025 pre-IPO funding round and roughly $340 million in annual recurring revenue. In December 2025, ServiceNow announced an agreement to acquire Armis for $7.75 billion in cash — its largest acquisition to date — and the deal closed in April 2026, folding Armis’s asset-intelligence platform into ServiceNow’s security and risk product line.
Armis is ranked a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Cyber-Physical Systems Protection Platforms, placing second on Completeness of Vision behind Claroty. Its differentiator remains breadth of agentless device coverage, including unmanaged and OT/IoMT devices that endpoint-agent-based tools cannot reach.
Innovation Matrix Assessment
Expanded from IoT/OT discovery into a broader asset-intelligence and exposure-management platform over roughly a decade, with continued device-coverage expansion ahead of its ServiceNow acquisition.
Gives security teams a single, agentless inventory across IT, OT, IoT and medical devices, closing blind spots that drive real incident risk in converged environments.
Independently verified: $6.1B pre-IPO valuation (Nov 2025) followed by a $7.75B all-cash acquisition by ServiceNow that closed in April 2026, reported by CNBC and ServiceNow's own newsroom, plus a disclosed ~$340M ARR. Recognized in Cyber Defense Media Group's 2026 Global InfoSec Awards (2 awards), independently juried industry validation of market traction.
A genuine leader in agentless asset visibility, ranked second on Completeness of Vision in Gartner's CPS Magic Quadrant, but shares the category with Claroty, Dragos and Nozomi rather than singularly redefining it. However, Armis was acquired by ServiceNow for $7.75B, completed April 2026 (per itpro.com), which is the scale of an established incumbent rather than an emerging category disruptor, so this dimension is scored more conservatively.
Gartner MQ Leader status and a large, disclosed customer base across government and critical infrastructure provide credible independent efficacy signal.
Asset visibility is becoming more, not less, critical as IoT, OT and AI-agent endpoints multiply; ServiceNow's acquisition signals durable strategic value rather than a fading category.
Why CISOs Should Care
Delivers a single, agentless inventory of every connected device — including unmanaged and OT/medical devices — that most endpoint-agent tools simply cannot see.
What Makes It Different
Agentless, passive discovery breadth spanning IT, OT, IoT and medical devices, now backed by ServiceNow's workflow and risk-management platform.
The Matrix Verdict
78/100 — MEANINGFUL INNOVATOR
A Meaningful Innovator: Armis combines strong, independently verified momentum (its $7.75B acquisition by ServiceNow) with genuinely valuable agentless device coverage, though it operates in a competitive field of credible CPS security peers.
Editorial Note: Claims vs. Verified Findings
Valuation, ARR and acquisition figures are drawn from CNBC and ServiceNow's own press disclosures; independent third-party efficacy testing beyond Gartner's analyst evaluation was not found in this research.
