Spirion

Spirion, originally launched as Identity Finder and headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, is a sensitive data discovery and classification platform used to locate structured and unstructured personal and regulated data across endpoints, servers, cloud storage, and databases. Its Sensitive Data Manager product is aimed at organizations that need to satisfy CCPA, HIPAA, HITECH, and PCI DSS style requirements by first knowing precisely where sensitive data actually lives before they can protect or minimize it.

In September 2025, Spirion was acquired by archTIS, an Australian (ASX-listed) data-centric security company, for roughly $9 million in a deal intended to combine Spirion’s data discovery and classification technology with archTIS’s attribute-based access control (ABAC) products to form a broader data-centric security and zero-trust offering; Spirion’s CEO moved into an executive role at archTIS overseeing the combined company’s Americas business. The acquisition gives Spirion a path to a wider international go-to-market than it had as a standalone, private-equity-backed (Riverside Company) business.

For CISOs and compliance teams, Spirion remains a credible, established data discovery tool with two decades of operating history, now backed by a parent actively investing in integrating it into a broader data-centric security suite; buyers should factor in near-term product and support continuity questions that typically accompany an acquisition and management transition.
