SyncDog is a mobile security vendor founded in 2013 and headquartered in Reston, Virginia. Its flagship platform, Secure.Systems (rebranded from SentinelSecure), containerizes corporate applications and data on employee-owned devices, separating work and personal data without requiring a full mobile device management (MDM) profile on the device. That distinction matters for BYOD and CYOD programs where employees resist handing an employer full device-level control: SyncDog’s container encrypts and isolates the corporate workspace (email, apps, files) using FIPS 140-2 validated AES-256 encryption while leaving the rest of the personal device untouched.

The company targets regulated and public-sector customers directly, building compliance mapping for CMMC, FINRA, GDPR, and HIPAA into its positioning, and offers a private app store and mobile threat defense components alongside the core containerization technology. This puts it in competition with both dedicated mobile security vendors and the mobile app protection features increasingly bundled into larger unified endpoint management suites from Microsoft and Ivanti.

SyncDog continues to operate under its own brand with an active product and support presence; a 2024 transaction reported by deal-tracking databases indicates IntegriCell, a mobile threat intelligence firm, acquired a stake in the company, though SyncDog’s own public materials do not reference the deal and the company markets itself independently. For CISOs running BYOD programs in defense, financial services, or healthcare, SyncDog’s no-MDM-profile containerization is a genuine differentiator against full-device-management alternatives; its main limitation is scale and visibility relative to the UEM incumbents it competes against.
