Bkav’s cybersecurity division sells endpoint protection and security operations tooling under the BkavPro and Bkav Endpoint brands: BkavPro is an AI-assisted antivirus and real-time monitoring product for consumers, while Bkav Endpoint and Bkav SOC extend that detection engine to enterprise and government customers along with cloud-based threat monitoring (Endpoint AI Cloud). BkavPro is notable as the only Vietnamese antivirus product to hold AV-TEST certification, an independent malware-detection benchmark, giving the company one of the few third-party-verified efficacy claims among Southeast Asian security vendors.

Founded in Hanoi in 1995, Bkav grew out of a research group studying computer viruses before commercializing antivirus software, and it has since become the dominant antivirus vendor in Vietnam, reportedly holding more than 70% of the domestic consumer market. The company is privately held and self-funded rather than venture-backed, and it has diversified well beyond cybersecurity into smartphones (Bphone), smart home devices, e-government platforms, and AI camera systems — the cybersecurity unit is one part of a larger, founder-controlled conglomerate rather than a standalone company, and detailed financials specific to the security division are not separately disclosed.

Bkav’s cybersecurity credibility is strongest domestically, reinforced by recognition as a Gartner Cool Vendor for emerging markets, a Microsoft-named trusted global partner, and a partnership with OPSWAT, along with research notoriety for demonstrated attacks against early Apple Face ID implementations. Outside Vietnam and Southeast Asia, however, Bkav’s enterprise security products have limited market visibility compared to global endpoint and SOC vendors.
