Arpio provides automated disaster recovery and ransomware recovery software purpose-built for cloud-native environments, mapping the dependencies inside complex AWS and Azure workloads and replicating entire infrastructure stacks so an organization can fail over and restore operations after a destructive attack, cloud outage, or accidental deletion. The pitch is speed and cloud-nativeness: Arpio claims recovery from catastrophic failure in under ten minutes because it operates at the infrastructure-as-code and cloud-API level rather than relying on traditional backup-and-restore tooling designed for on-premises servers.

Founded in 2020 by Doug Neumann and Shaw Terwilliger and based in Durham, North Carolina, Arpio sits in the cyber resilience space that has grown in importance as ransomware groups increasingly target backup and recovery infrastructure directly, making recovery speed and infrastructure isolation a security control in its own right rather than a purely IT operations concern.

The company closed a $15 million Series A in mid-2026, led by S3 Ventures and Paladin Capital Group with participation from Draper Associates and others, to extend its automated recovery platform to Google Cloud and other AI-native environments. As a Series A company, Arpio’s customer base and independent efficacy data remain limited compared to established backup and disaster recovery incumbents, but its narrow focus on rapid, automated cloud-native recovery is a genuine architectural difference from legacy backup vendors retrofitting cloud support.
