Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity is the network and encryption security division of Rohde & Schwarz, the German test-and-measurement and communications conglomerate. The division builds high-assurance encryption, firewall, and secure-endpoint products aimed at government, defense, and critical-infrastructure customers, including products certified for NATO SECRET-level classified communications. In 2026 the business was formed by merging the former Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity GmbH with LANCOM Systems, another R&S-owned subsidiary focused on network infrastructure, consolidating encryption, firewall, and networking product lines under a single division.

Its core product lines include R&S Trusted Disk (high-assurance full-disk encryption for military and government data), the ELCRODAT line of encrypted all-IP communication platforms for voice, video, and messaging up to SECRET classification, and next-generation firewalls for business-critical web applications. Because much of the customer base is government and defense, procurement cycles are long and product changes are incremental, tied to certification and accreditation timelines rather than commercial software release cadences.

As a subsidiary of a large, privately-held German industrial group rather than a venture-backed challenger, the division’s relevance rests on government-grade certification rather than growth-stage disruption: its products meet German, EU, and NATO classified-communications security levels, a bar few commercial vendors clear, but this also confines its addressable market to government and defense-adjacent buyers rather than the broader commercial enterprise.
