Inspired eLearning

Inspired eLearning is a security awareness and compliance training provider founded in 2003 in San Antonio, Texas. It builds turn-key training content and phishing-simulation programs aimed at the human side of the security stack — teaching employees to recognize phishing, social engineering, and policy violations, and giving compliance teams auditable proof that training happened, which matters as much to regulators as the training content itself.

The company changed hands in 2020 when it was acquired by J2 Global (now Ziff Davis), and has since been folded into Ziff Davis’s VIPRE Security Group alongside other consumer and enterprise security brands (VIPRE antivirus, StrongVPN, IPVanish). Today it’s marketed as “Inspired eLearning Powered by VIPRE,” reflecting a real integration into a larger security portfolio rather than a pure rebrand — the Inspired eLearning name and product line persist, but with VIPRE’s threat-intelligence and go-to-market resources behind them.

Security awareness training is a mature, well-served category with an established leader in KnowBe4 and a number of other competitors (Proofpoint, Hoxhunt), and Inspired eLearning is generally positioned as a solid, if not category-leading, alternative — reviewers and comparison sites treat it as a credible option rather than a market disruptor. No independent, quantified behavior-change study (e.g., measured reduction in phishing click-through rates across a large customer base) was found publicly for Inspired eLearning specifically, which is a common gap across the category, not unique to this vendor.

For CISOs, Inspired eLearning is worth evaluating as part of a security-awareness and compliance-training program, particularly where integration with VIPRE’s broader security stack is already in place or planned, but it should be compared directly against KnowBe4 and other established competitors on content quality, phishing-simulation realism, and reporting depth before selection.
